Medicare Health Insurance Plans

Becoming eligible for Medicare...now what?

What’s Part A and Part B? Should I have supplemental insurance to Original Medicare? What’s an Advantage plan? At Stockman Insurance, we get these types of questions all the time and are here to help. Medicare beneficiaries have a lot of choices to make in choosing the right health insurance plan that fits your specific needs and budget. Ready to enroll? One of our knowledgeable and friendly agents would be happy to help you enroll in a plan that is just what you are looking for.

Planning ahead, but not quite ready to go on Medicare?

We offer free Medicare 101 educational classes each month at our office. Understanding Medicare can be overwhelming. At our Medicare 101 class, one of our agents will help demystify: The A, B, C (and D) of Medicare, Supplementing Medicare, Choosing a Drug Plan, and When and How to Enroll.

Find a Medicare Class

Already on Medicare but want to make a change to your current coverage?

The Annual Enrollment Period is every year, from October 15th to December 7th. We are happy to review your medical and prescription coverage to see if a plan change is right for you. As this time of year approaches, we will be holding Medicare 101 classes and Advantage Plan presentations that will give an overview of the upcoming year’s benefit plans. Check back here for more information around October 1st.

You will be auto enrolled by SSDI into Medicare. You can come see us for Medicare Advantage Plans, Prescription Drug Plans or Supplement Plans once you get your Medicare card that shows both Part A and Part B effective dates.
You can ONLY make these changes during the Annual Enrollment Period starting October 15th through December 7th. However, if (1) you change from a Medicare Advantage Plan back to original Medicare, (2) you switch from one Medicare Advantage Plan to another Medicare Advantage Plan, (3) you switch from a Medicare Advantage Plan that offers drug coverage to a Medicare Advantage Plan that doesn’t offer drug coverage, or (4) you join a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan.
Yes, we do offer our services statewide. However, are not legally able to sell a Montana policy in a different state.
You can schedule an appointment with our Agency. However, for us to write a policy, we must have your Medicare card, including Part A & Part B effective dates. To learn more about Medicare, please see our schedule for Medicare 101 Seminars.
Yes, you will be automatically enrolled in both Part A and Part B. This is true whether you are automatically enrolled in Medicare or you have enrolled yourself.

No. If you’re still working at 65, and you have coverage under a group health plan through an employer with twenty (20) employees or more, then you don’t have to enroll in Medicare right now. However, some employers require their employees to sign up, so please check with your employer, and ask if your group plan is creditable coverage for Medicare Part B and Part D. Creditable coverage meaning better or equal to Medicare standards.

It will! If you are signed up for both Social Security and Medicare Part B, the Social Security Administration will automatically deduct that premium from your benefit. You can sign up to have this taken out monthly or quarterly. Some Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plan insurances also allow their monthly premiums to be deducted from your Social Security account.
