our communities make montana great

We know that each community in Montana is made up of people who believe in the common attitudes, interests, and goals that help make our state a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family. At Stockman, we support organizations that focus on improving the unique lifestyle we Montanans love so much.

Annual Scarecrow Contest

Annual Scarecrow Contests are held each fall in the wonderful towns of Hysham and Stanford.

In Stanford, Scarecrows in the Garden showcase original scarecrow masterpieces created by local students, organizations, businesses, and individuals. Scarecrows are displayed up and down Central Avenue and prizes are awarded. In addition, a craft fair and chili cook-off are held at the City Hall.

In Hysham, scarecrows are created by local businesses/clubs and individuals, displayed in the bank lobby, and then judged by the public. Prizes are awarded to 1st place in each category and then the scarecrows are auctioned off during their annual community appreciation tailgate BBQ each fall. This year's proceeds will go to help build a new shade pavilion, near the swimming pool, in Lions Park.

Montana Grain Growers Association Convention & Trade Show

The Montana Grain Growers Association (MGGA) is an organization of grain producers who combine their strengths, voices and ideas to ensure a better future. The members represent over 5.5 million planted acres primarily of wheat and barley across Montana. They provide education to their members at the annual trade show, held November 27-29 in Great Falls.

Pondera Healthcare Foundation

The Pondera Healthcare Foundation supports “best of care, close to home”. This foundation is focused on meeting the ongoing healthcare needs of this rural county. The support and services provide local residents and visitors with a Critical Access Hospital, Rural Health Clinic, and an Extended Care Facility. The mission is to exceed the healthcare expectations of those they serve through all stages of life.

Montana Stockgrowers Association Annual Convention

The Montana Stockgrowers Association (MSGA) mission is to protect and enhance Montana ranch families’ ability to grow and deliver safe, healthy, and environmentally wholesome beef to the world. The 134th Annual MSGA Convention and Trade Show is being held in Billings, December 11-13. This organization has worked on behalf of Montana’s cattle ranching families since 1884!

Garden City Harvest Capital Campaign

With the year-round efforts of Garden City Harvest in Missoula, four urban farms grow food for local service agencies during the warm weather months. However, support is needed throughout the entire year. These ten community gardens empower people with the knowledge and resources to grow their own food. The Farm to School program connects thousands of school kids to farming through the food they eat. Farming is used as a form of therapy for teenagers struggling with overwhelming challenges in their lives. We support the good work of Garden City Harvest.
