A standard farm owner’s policy doesn’t cover flooding and it is important to protect your property from floods associated with heavy rains and other flooding conditions.
National Flood Insurance
Property owners can cover their property through the government’s National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). NFIP offers flood protection to businesses, homeowners, and renters if their community participates in the program.
Flood Insurance covers the building itself and this coverage may be required by your bank. It also covers contents of the building similar to the homeowner’s policy.
